Getting started

Everyone, regardless of fitness level or experience, is welcome to join us. No prior dance, gymnastics or fitness experience is required.

Pole dance is progressive— start with a Pole Trial or our beginner course, Pole Starters and build from there.

The Mauve Community

Our studio is a safe and inclusive space for individuals of all genders, sexual orientations and identities. Come dance with us!

Students aged 16 and below however, are required to obtain parental consent before attending class.

Please email hello@mauve.sg for a consent form and bring the signed copy along for your first class.

Classes & Courses Bookings

  1. Register for an account via our website or the Mauve Dance Studio app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  2. Choose a course or class that suits your level and schedule, then proceed with booking and payment.
  3. Existing students looking to level up are required to obtain clearance from their instructors before doing so.

Please sign up for classes/courses appropriate for your level and schedule. An admin fee of SGD20 applies for any class/course changes after registration, including level reassignments and schedule switches.

Classes & Courses Commencement

Please note that the commencement of classes and courses (including pole trials) are based on sign ups. In the event that the class/course is unable to begin, we will offer an alternative class/course option. If you are unable to make the alternative class/course date/time, we will offer a refund in the form of credits.

Pole Trial & Workshop Policies

Pole Trials are strictly non-refundable and cancellations are not allowed.

As commencement of trials is dependent on sign-ups, we may offer an alternative date/time should a trial be unable to start. Deferments are not permitted for Pole Trials. Reschedules are allowed on a one-time basis only.

For Pole Trials conducted during actual term classes, priority will be given to students enrolling into the full term course. Your trial spot is reserved unless informed otherwise. Should this occur, an alternative trial date/time will be offered.

Trials are limited to one sign-up per pax at all times. No refunds will be provided for duplicate trial bookings and non first-time trialists may be removed from class.

Trials are offered as an introductory pathway into Pole Starters and are not intended as standalone drop-in experiences. Mauve reserves the right to reject or limit trial bookings at its discretion. Individuals looking for private one-time experiences or group sessions may contact us separately for private session/event rates.

Workshops are strictly non-refundable and cancellations are not allowed. In the event that a workshop is unable to commence, the amount paid will be refunded in the form of studio credits.

Booking & Promotional Terms

Please note:

  1. For single-course bookings, including Pole Starters, Just Mauves and Stretch, bookings are to be made directly via the Mauve App. No promo code is required.
  2. For multi-course bookings and use of credits, please email hello@mauve.sg to book.
  3. Promotions and credits cannot be applied retroactively to self-made app bookings. No refunds will be provided for bookings made via the app on your own accord.
  4. All sales are final.

Refunds, Changes & Deferments

Cancellations are not allowed. All sales are final and strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. Any refunds, if approved, will only be issued in the form of credits.

If you are aware before the start of the term that you will be unable to attend due to injury, surgery, travel plans, work commitments or any other reason, please inform us at hello@mauve.sg before the term commences so that we may review your options where applicable.

If you are unable to continue or complete the course due to an unforeseen injury and/or illness that arises during the term, please write to hello@mauve.sg with a valid medical certificate or doctor's letter by Week 7 of the term. Requests submitted after this deadline or after the term has concluded will not be eligible for refunds. Approved cases will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and any refunds will be issued in the form of credits.

Deferments are not allowed. We only offer refunds or partial refunds in the form of credits for valid and sufficient reasons (e.g. injury or illness supported by a doctor's letter or medical certificate).

If you are enrolled in an incorrect level or if your instructor advises a level change, any course change must be notified before Week 3 of the term via hello@mauve.sg. An administrative fee of SGD 20 may apply.

Getting ready for class

Before class

  1. Please arrive on time and be fully changed into appropriate workout attire before class begins.
  2. No moisturiser, lotion, or oils should be applied on the day of class.
  3. No accessories (e.g. rings, bracelets, necklaces) are allowed during class.
  4. No outside shoes are permitted in the studio. Only pole heels are allowed where applicable.

Warm-up
Warming up is essential for all classes and courses at the studio. Students are required to participate in the entire warm-up, as it is tailored to the tricks and combinations planned for the class. Students who miss the warm-up may not be allowed to join the class for safety reasons.

Attire
Pole classes: Please wear comfortable, well-fitting workout clothes that do not restrict movement. Tank tops and shorts above the knee are recommended to allow adequate grip on the pole.
Signature classes:

Pole Mauves – pole attire with heels (knee pads optional).
Mauve Flow – pole attire with socks only (no heels).

What to bring

  1. Two small towels (one for personal use and one for cleaning the pole; cleaning alcohol is provided. Towels are available for purchase at the studio).
  2. Grip aids such as dry chalk, liquid chalk, or shaving gel (iTac is not allowed. Grip aids are available for purchase at the studio).
  3. Knee pads if required for warm-ups or floorwork classes.

Be punctual

We appreciate your punctuality as a form of respect to the instructor and other students in your course.

Please arrive 10 minutes before class to allow time for changing, restroom use and getting settled.

For everyone’s safety, latecomers are not permitted to join the class. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late and miss the warm-up, you will not be allowed to participate.

You may observe the class and arrange a make-up within the same term, subject to availability.
No refunds will be provided for late arrivals.

TRIPLE H— Health, Hygiene & Habits

  1. We appreciate your responsibility in staying home if you are feeling unwell.
  2. Please practice good personal hygiene for the comfort of your instructor and fellow students— deodorant is highly encouraged.
  3. For hygiene and comfort during pole classes, students are encouraged to keep areas that come into contact with the pole well groomed — smooth mauves start here :)
  4. Please sanitise your floor area after class, including the pole, chairs and blocks. Cleaning alcohol is provided. Cleaning towels are available for purchase at the studio.

Thank you for being considerate and thoughtful.

Photography & Filming Guidelines

We appreciate your respect for the instructor’s privacy and kindly ask that no filming is done without their consent.

  1. You may film yourself during the last 10 minutes of class, or when prompted by the instructor.
  2. Short snippets of the class routine may be shared on social media. Please tag us at @mauve_sg and use #mauve_sg #mauvedancestudio #poledancesg.
  3. Please obtain consent from fellow students before uploading any videos in which they appear.
  4. Photography or filming is not allowed if you did not attend the class.
  5. Recording instructors is not permitted unless explicit consent has been given.

Sharing of Class Content

Students are not permitted to request or distribute recordings of class instruction, demonstrations, choreography or combinations to absent students. Filming during class is intended for personal review only and not for reproduction or sharing of class material outside of the session. Respect for our instructors’ work and class content is greatly appreciated.

Make-up Class Policy

Make-ups for missed classes must be completed within the same term, subject to class capacity and availability.

  • Choreography classes may be made up with choreography classes of the same level, or tricks classes of the same level or lower.
  • Tricks classes may only be made up with tricks classes of the same level or lower. Tricks classes cannot be made up with choreography classes.
  • Pole Mauves and Mauve Flow run in separate 4-week blocks within the 8-week term. Make-ups must be done within the same block and with the same class only. Classes are not interchangeable.
  • Just Mauves classes are not eligible as make-up options unless you are enrolled in Just Mauves.
  • All classes may be made up with Stretch & Conditioning.

If a term only offers one applicable class or if all suitable classes are fully booked, make-ups may not be available. We appreciate your understanding in such instances.
